I know this is an old topic but there is very little discussion online about the EB63 amplifier. I was wondering if anyone substituted 2SC2879 transistors in their amplifier.

Comparing the datasheets for both there are trade-offs between the types. If substituted, biasing would need to change at a minimum.  Depends on end use.
