There is software for free that will reduce large camera size pictures for "email quality" sending.
This is free and seems to download without a lot of junk. I have had to reload and download to new machines with now problems.

http://pixresizer.en.softonic.com/

Very intuitive in its use.

Windows Paint can also resize photos/jpeg/png's.

Ask for photos.  I won't include them.  Let's see if that works.  I'm still saddled with Windows XP.  When it comes to computers, don't confuse me more. Hi Hi!

It will be a mystery forever...the computer world is overwhelming for a lot of people.

You can still sell things, but clearly you have a problem on your end posting photos with your current system/software set up, Mike.

I just went in and successfully posted a photo to your ad. Didn't have one of your transformer, just posted something to demonstrate that the photo attachment feature is working fine.

I used XP on this site for several years without issue. I'd suggest doing as Pete said - check the size and quantity of photos you're trying to upload. IIRC, the limit is 3 photos per post. If you're only trying to post one, check the size/dimensions against what is specified.

Can't quite figure it out.  Worked fine a couple of weeks ago.

I don't think that question has ever been answered.  There is another excellent tool that compresses a JPG file without needing to downsize it so that detail is lost.

The utility is free and can be downloaded at:

Try it, you'll like it

What's to figure out? What's the size of the photo(s) you were trying to upload?

Mike - bring up the photo you want to attach. Right click on it with your mouse. You'll see a menu with 'Properties' at the bottom. Click on Properties. It will give you the size, dimensions, and other information about the photo. Check size and dimensions of your photo against the information Pete gave previously for attachments. Simple as that.

It could've worked fine before if you were using a smaller photo that met the requirements and not work now if the photo is too large.

Were you trying to attach more then one photo? If so, what was the total "KB"?

Last try was with one photo for the matched UTC "S" series. Still no go.  I finally just wrote an ad which posted OK without photos.

Three weeks ago with the breadcutter sold to Greg Cotton, I know there were 3 pix of the Johnson.  Date Aug 7, 09:54:32 PM in Sell/Trade.

WHO ATTACHED AN ANGRY BIRD TO MY UTC AD?  Oh wait. Todd.  Sorry, I'm not a computer genius and can only see out of my left eye because of the cataract in my right one.  True.  Let's try something.

Remove the Angry Bird.

WHO ATTACHED AN ANGRY BIRD TO MY UTC AD?

Read Todd's first post, second paragraph. It was a test to see if a photo could be attached to your FS.

Obviously, there must be an issue on you PC to upload and attach a photo.

Is this the error message you receive when you try to attach a file:

An Error Has Occurred!
Your file is too large. The maximum attachment size allowed is 5000 KB.

With a little resizing from Adobe Photoshop, the file size dropped to 616 KB.

Got the message you received when I tried to upload the 616 KB file:

An Error Has Occurred!
The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.

ADMIN - we may have an issue - with "large files" but less then 5 MB - evidently there is an upload folder where attachments are stored and either needs to be increased in size or purged of old attachments.

The problem at hand, I believe, has been identified so let the administration take a look at it and see if they can fix it. Further discussion really is not necessary.

Yep, just checked the attachments config, simple fix. I'm not going to mess with it as I'm not familiar enough with the software and don't know what changes may have already been done, or how much to increase the folder. Purging may result in old attachments being lost from messages including schematics, etc, so we don't want that.
