Dad was discharged from Florida Hospital Deland Wednesday afternoon (01/11) and is now doing rehab at Alliance Healthcare on Alexander St in South Deland.

He is still very weak after several heart attacks, but he is determined to work hard at recovery.  His 93rd birthday was Saturday Jan 7th.  He has read all your posts and very much appreciates everyone's support.

Thank you for the update. Your Dad is a real American original.

Tell him we all want more writing from him, so he has to get well fast.

This is good news.  Everything I have ever read says that attitude is very important (being positive).  Sounds like Walt has the right attitude.

Dad has been in and out of the hospital several times since the last post.  He has been under 24 hour nursing care at home for a few weeks, and steadily improving with physical and occupational therapy.  Family members have also been with him round the clock.  But on Sunday afternoon (April first) he was transported to the hospital with abdominal pain and internal bleeding.

He has had several units of blood, and is very weak, but is determinded to beat this illness and is fighting to recover.  Last week he spent several hours on the computer, browsing AMfone and QRZ, but was not quite ready to post.  He asked me to let all his friends here know that he will be back soon.

Thanks for the report. This is not good news that Walt is back in the hospital. Let's hope he can get through these trials.

Thanks Rick for the update.  Please keep us all posted on how the progress goes.  I was just going to generate a post to see if anyone had heard how he was doing.
He is in our thoughts and prayers.
