I'm new to the board.  Thought I'd share an antenna that has proven to be a good, simple all around performer for DX and local ragchew.  It is a half wave, corner fed, L for 160 with the vertical element linear loaded, kinda like a rotated inverted V.  Also, you can imagine it being a pair of half waves for 75 meters, one vert/one horiz. The vertical leg being top fed aids efficiency.  I do not use any counterpoise/radials underneath.  The horizontal element acts much like a dipole leg, except on 40 where it may show a more clover leaf pattern.

I did something very similar only I made mine 90'x90' - no radials. It works OK on 160 & 75 & does very well on 40.

What's the spacing on your linear loaded section?

I just used some convenient ladder line, which is not perfect....but it's easy.   Darrell KF4DX
