IN A TRIODE NO ONE CAN HEAR YOUR SCREEN

WWW
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:38:20 PM »

A stellar HD video production of a B-17 & B-25 that live out here, with a great soundtrack.

Pictured also are Roosevelt dam, Red Mountain, and the Usury Pass cliffs.

Before I moved to Hidden Valley, our home was just down the block from where the warbirds took off from and many times the flight path was right over the house. Shocked

I hope you enjoy this! Cheesy

Thanks for the post. It's the best B17 video that I've ever seen. Wish it was longer.

Indeed, it is too short.

'Sentimental Journey' the B-17, flies with an ARC-5 modulator unit I donated to them.

Too bad they don't really use that radio system.

I love those vintage plane airshows. My hill is the turnaround point for many that depart the Nashua Municipal Airport so I get some mighty good views since Im right at the top. There are a couple of groups that stop here on their tours so there is something just about every year.

A few years ago a barnstorming B-17 flew in here at Mt. Pleasant, MI, and I took a 30-min ride in it, standing directly behind the pilot during the flight.

I've always been enamored by the B-17, so riding in it was pure joy.

Yes Walt, and I was surprised at just how small it was inside.  Not a lot of room compared to a modern plane.

I was shocked at that myself. I got a chance to walk through "Texas Rangers" years ago when she stopped at the Ithaca airport enroute to an airshow. I was amazed at how little space there was inside. I would have been claustrophobic flying missions in one of those for sure. I'm sure it felt even smaller with FW190's chasing you.  Sad

Here are some videos of a B 17 at Albany airport last July. If you have good speakers on your computer you may be surprised how good the engines sound on this air plane.

whats up with the guy in the hat running out in front of the plane, looked like he was trying to get someone inside's attention?

Yes, they had one more rider. The door was rather small on the right rear side, The person almost didn't fit through the door.

I think it was about $400.00 per ride and they were gone quite awhile.
