Hello my friends
Dave K2DK mentioned in this month's ER, his final installment on broadcast Tx's, that there was a CD available for $7 that emulates the Optimod processor. There are 50 pre-sets and using your computer sound card, you can have a ball changing modulation characteristics of your Ham AM rig. I sent him an e-mail for the source. Anybody on the Forum hear of anything like this?

Hi Fred:

There is a $7.00 CD you can occasionally find on eBay.

For the free download of SoundSolution his multiband processor, check Tomass' site out:

http://www.soundsolution.it/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=28

His main page is:

http://www.soundsolution.it/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

He has a vew version out as a demo.

This software sounds very good, however the throughput delay is somewhere from 0.5-2.5 seconds. Is is a Wimamp plug-in. I have only played wav audio through this, not done any live audio (I believe you need more software or a DLL to pass live audio). I have not checked how well it does peak protection limiting though.

I am very impressed with what Tomass has done here.

Thanks Dan
I was afraid of processing delays. Might be worth playing with off the air.

Hi Fred:

As you well know, any digital processing has some form of delay. The Optimod 6200 has only 15ms of, the Behringer seems to have about 1/4 second of delay.

But this SoundSolution processor is fun to play with and sounds pretty good!
