Returned from my west coast trip

Just returned from the west coast, Yosemite Valley.  Brought the portable receiver.  Couldn't hear anyone from the east coast. Heard very few AM'ers on the west coast too. Even SSB was wimpy.  I think signals stunk for the most part but maybe I wasn't in a good area, being in the valley afterall.  I did hear Don W6BCN in QSO with someone from Portland OR but couldn't make out his call. Other than that HF bit the big one. Glad to be back at home.  The grand finale before returning home was catching the Blue Angels in SF Bay.  What a show.
