The number of thunderstorms in the east coast area is the lowest in a while.

The Current Solar Indicies from WWV 13-Jun-2006 at 2105 UTC are:

SFI = 77   A = 1   K = 1 .

It all adds up to good conditions tonight for AM talk radio on 75 and 160 meters, theoretically.

There will probably be some noise from the T-storms on the gulf coast, and later in the evening, from the Northwest.

It wasn't too bad. I was on from about 8:50PM until a little after 9PM. There was static but I have heard worse during Jan-Feb.

Listened to Steve QIX and Tina 1IA for a while. They were pretty strong and covering the slopbucket trash effectively here in Ohio.

About 0400 GMT 75 got pretty quiet.  Worked a couple of stations.  The band was almost deserted.  No cw at all, maybe half dozen slopbuckets on the entire band, and a big roundtable on AM with Ed WA3PUN.  The T-storms must have fizzled.  When I called it quits, the band sounded almost like wintertime condx.  Low QRN on 160 too, but zero activity.
