In anticipation of a possible future move to an apartment I am considering the possibility of selling off a few of my boatanchors, namely my Valiant and Globe King 500. Of couerse I will keep my Viking 2, I couldn't bear  to part with it for sentimental reasons. In any even I am considering one of tyhose Flex software defined radio's, like the SDR-1000. Somne of the reviews I have read concering overall performance and receiver charachteristics sound excellent.  What I am particularlyinterested in is the radio's overall performance on AM ? Is it capable of decent fidelity should I wish to run it as a standalone rig on AM or if I wish to run it on AM via a amplifier or as a driver of a class E rig.

And info on this beast ?? Anyone have anyt experience, audio samples, etc.

I've heard and worked  Bill, W3DUQ, with his SDR-1000 on 75 meters, and his AM quality is excellent. There are several other members here who also run SDR-1000's and hopefully we'll hear some comments. I may just bring one back with me from Dayton this year. It's on my list.
