I came into the shack tonight and tuned around on the AM frequencies to hear nice signals coming from 8 land.  Didn't pay attention to the calls so can't relate them.

I was surprised to hear the stations in a readable fashion considering the condition of 160 meters this year.   Anyone else on 1885?

Jim,
Thanks for the report. I think you were listening to a large group of the following people. The 8/Landers and the Zero were the ones you'd most likely hear from your location.

The following were in attendance when I joined the group, or came in shortly thereafter:

WB8BEM Gary
KC8OPP Roger
W3GMS Joe
W1IA Brent-Tina
K1TEY Hal
WB0JZG Kevin
N3IBX Joe

There may have been other stations on 1885KC before I came in.

One of these nights we're gonna connect on 160M! The band conditions have to be just right. Conditions on the East Coast were fair at best. Quite a bit of QRN/Cratic Stashes, and the usual atmospheric phenonoma most likely prevented us from hearing you. I personally wasn't running a lot of power (pushing the single 813 to 200W in my ART-13), but Roger,Gary,Joe, GMS and Brent were at or near legal limit.
Best Regards and will try to keep a pause between transmissions in case you want to jump in. As an alternate to 1885KC, you may want to try on 1930KC, or the "Grey Hair Net" on 1945KC.

Also, as a matter of interest, there is a group of 9's and 0's and a few others on 1985KC. I break in there once in a blue moon to say hello, and think you may have a better copy on them than we do on the East Coast.

Tom, WA3KLR, Phil, K2PG and Bob, NM3Y, along with myself were on 1885 earlier. They all checked out about 8PM and Ralph, KA3KYF came on until about 8:30PM. No one else came in so I went QRT/pumpkin mode early.

Hello 160 AMers.... I put the Tesla 360 (813s x813s) and the 900ft longwire on 1885 last week and worked W2ZM on a schedule at 9:30 PM West Coast time......Good Sigs and the freq was clear..I plan to get on 1885 tonite and possibly tommorrow nite around 9-9:30 .  It is late for those of you on the east side but that is about the earliest the band will support east west communications..  Hope to work some of you.   Steve
