From the ARRL Web Site:

"When the Board convenes Friday and Saturday, January 20 and 21, in Windsor, Connecticut, Jim Haynie, W5JBP, will wield the gavel for the last time as the League's president. Haynie, who lives in Dallas, Texas, has made it known over the past few months that he will not be a candidate for a fourth two-year term. He says that while it's been a great honor to serve as the ARRL's president for the past six years, he feels it's time to step aside."

Hmmmm. Maybe if they get 1ZZ to retire, they might pull out of the nose-dive.

I am picturing a Kamakaze pilot . . . bailing out just before the plane hits the carrier . . .

Art,--sounds about right,--I like your analogy,--question is now will his "wing man"
decide to "bail out" also?
