Where does one find a nice commerical grade 24 hour clock?
I don't care for the LCD displays or the MFJ plastic models.

And I am getting too old or too lazy to convert back from UTC to EDT.

Tnx

Check E-Bay.  Search for 24 hour clocks.  You'll find this:

I bought one about one year ago.  It is accurate.  I like it.  $29.99 + shipping - well spent.
Hope that's a help.

Thanks for the tip, did check eBay.
I am thinking more along the lines of a studio clock as used in a TV or radio statiion.
I do like the ship's radio room clock too, but the gentleman who was producing those seems to have taken down his site.

Ideally should be somewhat buzzardly looking and commerical.

Never mind UTC or GMT, the real question is how long do I have left to contemplate rainbow clocks?

Check out www.deathclock.com for the whole story?

I still fondly recall GMT from my early days as a young JN SWL using the Radio Shack DX-150B and a twenty foot length of wire drapped out the window.
Back in the day when WWV sent out QSL cards, and before I discovered CHU.

I still consider it GMT, UTC just seems less Anglocentric and more P.C.

Or we could call it ZULU time.

My search has not been entirely fruitless, check out these neat clock sets -->> http://www.brgprecision.com/arc66.html

That is what we called it in the military. That coming from a person who lives in time zone QUEBEC.

Too bad you don't like the LCD displays. For $19.95 I bought a large display (10"X10") LCD, radio signal controlled (from NIST) which recalibrates itself every night to NIST. It has dual time zones so you can put in local & GMT, it also displays date and day plus the phase of the moon. You can even have it adjust automatically to and from daylight savings time by flipping a switch on the back. I have one in my shack & I love it.

I have one of those too that I got for free. Fisher Scientific was in for a vendor's show at work. I ask the woman if I could get one and she gave it to me for free since I was helping out with the displays. Mine has the date, temp, and time with auto adjustment to WWV. And it is NIST traceable. I got the papers to prove it Grin
