So I was spooling some unmarked reels looking for some W3F tape, and instead found this gem.

It's about 500K, an MP3

Funny stuff.  Grin Grin Grin   Yep, some things are timeless.

When I first saw the "Lowest" title, I figgered it might be the old 75M Limbo contest we had to see who had the lowest voice. [won by Pete/VZR]

That Kia Rio commercial still gets played from time to time. Jay is the best.

The laugh from HuzMan is infectious.

Tnx for pulling it out and giving us a laugh again, Paul.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Tom, you're right, the Kia/WWL performance is actually a descendant of the Limbo contest (How Low Can You Go).
In the time since that runoff, we've been joined by the third BA voices of W3GD, K1KBW and K2LNU among others.

Do you think Pete would still take it ?

We may have to have a challenge over the winter holidays when everyone's around.

First of all, who the hell is the guy as your avatar, Paul Wink
He looks like a throw-back from the 60's!  Wonder if he was wearing bell-bottoms.
That file is definitely a classic.  Cracks me up every time I hear it.
Man, that's the lowest BA's in Amercia.

Hey Jay, I thought we'd draw you out with that one. Has that "file" been out there before?
I don't ever remember rendering it off the open reel before now. Maybe someone else caught it too.
Yeup, lots of entertainment value.

The "avatar" comes from having looked at Tom's dog and remembering I sort of looked like that too,
once upon a time.

I think you played it back on the air before...perhaps not.   I know I've heard it in the past.
...and you're right, you did look a little like Yaz III.   Shocked

Hey, that's a neat set of glasses. Think I'll use it for awhile. Tnx, OM.

Yes, Pete/VZR was able to hum and sync his voice to a 60 hz audio tone.

We started at 90hz and the guys each tried and dropped out as it went lower until just Pete remained.

Many guys try to get their audio to be flat down to 30 cycles, but try doing even a 70 cycle tone sometime... Grin Yep, this season we must have another limbo corntest...
