Wow! Looks like the sun hasn't moved in two weeks! It's a miracle!  Wink

Time to update the graphic, guys. Go to http://www.qsl.net/ka1zgc if you want current solar images.

Don't get the wrong idea...

I'm just bustin' BAs, guys. That's what happens when you get stopped up.  Shocked

Seriously, the shot in the left-hand column here seems to be stuck. Is it linked to the SOHO page, or does someone have to manually update it? Mine's hot-linked to SOHO, and it's fairly current. Wish I could say the same for the x-ray image. I thought I pulled that, but that was probably after the last backup.

I'll go back under my rock now.

We use NOAA and N3KL for the info.

Click on the NOAA Data link and you will see the X-Ray Imager is down.

I think Bob, RKW had brought this up in another thread titled "Latest Solar activity."

We're talking about two different things.

The X-Ray imager you're talking about is down, the X-Ray imager I'm talking about isn't down.

The image in the left column is UV at 195 angstroms, not x-ray. Wherever you're getting the image from, it isn't being updated. If you're getting it from NOAA, that's probably why. I get the same image directly from SOHO (it's their bird, after all) and it's updated regularly.

Try using http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/images/latest_eit_195.gif and the image will always update. I've been using that link for years (5 or 6) with no trouble at all.
