Author Topic: Info on a Globe King 400B military version  (Read 3995 times)

I have what I believe to be a military GK 400 but I can't find any info about it or a picture just a manual and it's not even close to what I have. If I could post a picture I would but it won't let me .. HELP

Hi Don,
I seriously doubt you have a military GK 400. I have never heard of one and WRL never approached military standards in their normal design/construction that would come close to what the military expected.
But stranger things have happened. What leads you to think it is military?

It might just be a limited run or locally sourced job for MARS.  They used all sorts of gear around the globe (pun intended).

Hi Don..I'm sure you've already looked but I did a looksee at BAMA and there are two manuals there under WRL..the first one says something about Air Force regulations and is 36 pages long..the other is sort of a "write-up" of 9 pages explaining the GK400 and how it works....wish I cud be of more help and gud luk in researching  73 de DAVE WB1EAD

Hell, why not? I know that RME made some real big-a$$ed transmitters for MARS operation.

Yep, there is a world of difference between tactical military gear and locally-sourced and liaison radio gear.
