-Last few days: packing 19" rack panels and larger items like rack shelves in 20x20x20 boxes. Some panels are steel, but all the rest is aluminum. Its interesting how heavy a few these can be. Got a nasty burn from a bare light bulb.

-Monday+Tuesday: packing the remaining small items in 'bankers boxes'. That incliudes all kinds of small bins of misc. parts that don't go in the transmitters but will be scrapped otherwise -air variables, Globar type NI resisotrs, a few more tubes, ceramic standoffs, stuff like that which one can never find when needed.

-Wednesday: moving truck day. I have laborers who will follow instructions on handling. All three days the high temp is supposed to be 104-106. The last couple weeks it's been near 100 each day, but not until the afternoon. Just working mornings to avoid heat illness. I'm not as fit as in earlier times it seems. Wish me luck on being able to get it all boxed up!

Here are pictures of the modulator items as promised, and a few other things that might be interesting. A more complete text all of this modulator gear from rack 5 etc. is attached.

Filament transformer for 808 modulator for HK54/808 RF amp:

A 6.3V transformer was used with a variac to up the voltage to 7.5V. I'm guessing a few were tried to find one that would take this without complaint. Here's the figuring on the 'abuse level'.

Rack 5 "Weights" and "prop leg". The cause of much extra work! (not complaining, it was a labor of love).

other good stuff.

those vintage car speakers.

The simple way the speech amp was switched from one modulator to the other. 16 Ohm line.

Some of the rack shelves. The 19" panels are flat in the bottom of the cartons for strength and keeping the weight at the bottom.

It all BARELY fit in the space previously made. A bunch of stuff has to go to have any room to work on this at all. But it's safe there until cooler weather prevails. The a/c in the building works well, but when it's 100 degrees outside  it's not enough capacity to cool the space into the mid to low 70s I prefer.

I can't say about the function, but optics sure weren't on that OM's mind.
