Hi All..whoa it's cold..!..today not a bad day for 10mtr AM..turned on the rig at 1550 UTC..there was Mervyn GW8TBG on 29.020 at 20 over..nice chat with him..dropped to 29.000 to catch Marcos CT1EHI..also 20 over..ended at just b/4 1620 UTC with Aldo IW5EKR..another 5/9 ++ signal..went to do some chores..came back for awhile at 1710 UTC..caught Jay in Arkansas W5JAY running an Apache Labs set-up and yet another signal at 20 over S9 on 29.035 with the yagi pointed at 70 deg East..
Later I'm 99% positive activity goes to 2300 UTC with West coast joining in..stay warm ya all..
The only way to "work 'em" is to be there..gud luk !  73 de DAVE WB1EAD

Hi All..another great conditions day..lately the 10mtr band has been tuff to operate due to the OTH radar and solar flares..not today and most likely not tomorrow..today between 1600 to 1700 UTC I managed very long QSOs with Howarth GW3TMP and Mervyn GW8TBG..both well over S9 with excellent audio..heard other ops working plenty of fellas here..for us on the east coast the optimum time remains at 1400 to 1700 UTC for most of Europa....just b/4 I went QRT was Rick VE6CQ on his "favorite" freq 29.060 calling CQ...the 2 odd signals reported awhile back are still there although 29.130 is almost non-existent..however 29.100 a carrier only has been as high up as S9+10..??  gud luk  73 de DAVE WB1EAD

Gud morn/aft..seems that we had a major disruption from Ol' Sol..mostly very quiet for several days..today it was very much open..only annoying thing was that constant "fog horn" sounding OTH radar..I've heard all kinds of theories of where it originates from..anyone know precisely who/where/why..?....on the plus side lots of mid-west and west coast on now as I type..earlier the "bigger" stations from across the pond were there..some making it thru the "racket"..gud luk !! 73 de DAVE WB1EAD

Hi All..if ya loves the buzz buzz ooh gah sounds..you wud be at home on 10mtrs..what a racket !!..in spite of that a couple gud "Q"s today with G3YPZ & G3XGW..both John & Keith were running KW Vangaurds..pretty gud signals actually..both of them well over S9..this was on 29.070..had to go up high..awful racket on 29.000..OTH radar at 20 over..now on the "oddity" reporting..I see the big carrier on 29.100 has gone bye bye..the one on 29.130 has never been stronger..varying between S9 to 30 over..some day it will either disappear or be identified..??   the 15/10mtr AM sections look gud this weekend..
Take care c ya on AM !   73 de DAVE WB1EAD
