Anyone know of a source of possible replacement transformers of the correct impedance for use in the 455 Khz circuits for the HQ 170 (T3) and the "Immunizer" that has two similar 455 Khz transformers (dual windings/slug adjustments)?   I have a shorted secondary in the Immunizer (T201) and would like to get it operational.  No luck so far on ebay but is anyone familiar with substitutes or modern replacements?

Appreciate any knowledge in this regard.

Back in the 1960's you could order new IF xfmrs from Hammarlund  Those days are gone forever.  Last one I fixed was In a HQ-170.  You have to fixed the xfmr you have.  The caps built into the base material short out {very common problem with HQ-receivers}.  You'll have to estimate the value cap.  I don't remember what value cap I used probably try a few different ones { i have thousands of caps here so no big problem for me}

The right cap will peak the xfmr with the core in the approx. same place it is in now.

Is it the same transformer that would be used in an HQ 180? If it is if you can tell me which one it is in HQ 180 I might be able to help you. I have a 180 carcass in the garage. Drop me an email I am OK On QRZ

As KA2DZT said, it is likely just the internal capacitors shorted.

This guy does some nice videos that show exactly how to rebuild these HQ IF transformers.
The transformers were fine, but the internal caps were junk, but they can be replaced.

Thanks for all the responses.  The transformer has 330 pf capacitors.  I will do an autopsy and see if I can repair -  Thanks
