http://www.ermag.com/ Once again, it is almost time for the Electric Radio Vintage Field Day.
It will be held the first weekend in June as in the past, June 4th and 5th.
Vintage Field Day starts at 11:00 Eastern time and ends Sunday noon at 3:00 PM Eastern.
This is not a traditional Ham radio contest with points to score, but it is rather an opportunity to have fun experiencing Field Day as it was years ago.
Many operators use the Electric Radio Vintage Field Day to demonstrate AM operations and vintage equipment to newer Hams and the general public.
Many folks have never seen operating vacuum tube equipment, so this is your chance to showcase high-quality equipment from the past.
The goal of Vintage Field Day is to have fun while working as many stations as possible.
Send your photos and stories into Electric Radio for use in a special photo section later this year.
Look for W1UJR and the crew on 160, 75 and 40 meters.
We are planning to operate from the new W1UJR QTH in Woolwich, Maine.
Keeping with the Vintage Field Day theme, I have moved the old National HRO and Johnson Valiant out to the barn.
We'll also have a nice Hartley oscillator and National FB-7, National SW-3 receivers set up as the real old buzzard station.
Other interesting gear may also make an appearance.
See you on the bands!
