Definitely one of the largest mercury rectifiers I’ve ever seen.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL device!  Makes one wonder why anyone would convert to solid state?

This is the same fellow who fashioned a huge bank of oil-filled capacitors just to pop a 5000 ampere fuse.  I could think of better applications for that bank of caps!

I've seen some of that guy's other videos.  Yes, he loves to play with high voltage, high current, high power.

Not too unlike the Electroboom chap.  How he hasn't been zorched to a cinder yet, leaves me baffled.  Grin

But there's no ionized gas or vapor to give a narrow spectrum wherein the beautiful color is made. May I suggest a dichroic filter?

During my last full summer home from college, I worked as a technician a a company that made panel meters.  One of the steps in the process was to establish the magnetic fields of the meter cores which was done by placing the core material inside of a coil of heavy gauge wire which was then supplied a huge surge current pulse from a very large capacitor bank.  One had to be careful to put the core in the coil with respect to its existing low level magnetic polarity,  if it was put in the wrong way, closing the breaker to flash the coil would  be accompanied by violently launching the core across the room.  Can we sail rail gun?
