From the ARRL web site dated 8/4/16:

Let the conspiracy theories resume! Alaska’s High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) facility will reopen in 2017. The sprawling facility now is under the ownership of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), and the UAF Geophysical Institute is preparing HAARP for a new sponsored research campaign that’s set to begin early next year, UAF Researcher Chris Fallen, KL3WX, told ARRL.............

I understand one bit of science they proved was the ability to 'radio' real time audio/data to deep locations in earth or water.

The antennas and facility are still there,  but I believe the scrap job of the transmitters had already begun,  hadn't it?

Seems the articles posted on the subject indicated some,  or a lot,  had already been removed....

I'm probably in left field.

They're probably looking for the folks who walked off with all of the tubes and parts to get the place running again. I guess they'll be casing more bad WX.

Only test gear and some computers where removed. The transmitters are still assembled minus the tubes, which where put into storage where the -40 degree weather couldn't damage them.
