I'm thinking of purchasing one of these beacuse I don't have room for, (and can't find) a traditional mod monitor like a gates or boonton.  Looking for opinions / experience with this unit.  Best before or after the linear?  Accuracy and so forth?

Thanks

It will be obvious if you look at the thread, Steve WA1QIX is on here...
...while I do not have one, I do know that he also sells these to all sorts of commercial broadcast stations, and the fact that it is on a PC makes it possible for them to do all sorts of neat things with it, beside simple mod monitoring.

Oddly enough,  I was talking about the same unit to someone yesterday on 40 AM.

Very happy with mine (installed after the linear).  I've received excellent support on the monitor from Bob Richardson.

When I asked them about accuracy, they told me it's accurate within 2%.

Type approval is only needed on transmitting devices including power amplifiers.

GREAT piece of software and shows you everything you need to know about your AM transmitter. Retro meters, bar graph positive and neg peaks and O scope.
Disconnect the pick up unit from the antenna during the lightning storm days, as that will destroy the unit.
