Many of you knew Bob Peters, W1PE.  Bob passed away today about 2:15 PM.  Bob was a very good person and friend to me and I will miss him.  I know the ham community will miss him as well for he contributed in many ways over the years.

This is very sad news.  Thanks for posting Jim.  Although I had never had to pleasure of meeting Bob, I did work him quite a bit.  He was often the net control of the AM Texoma Traders net.  He was actively involved in the promotion and preservation of A.M. amateur operations.  A class act.  He will be missed.  RIP Bob.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Bob W1PE. I sold him a 2m Gonset Comm III a couple of years ago. My condolences to the family.

We loose one of the 3890 Texas crew again. I hate to hear this Jim. Bob was a real gentleman and horse trader of fine AM radios. Ham-Com won't be the same.

I did not know Bob, but sorry to hear of his passing.  I am sure that those that knew him with carry the good memories with them as they continue down life's path.

Its always tough to lose a good friend.  I have lost many.

Sorry to hear this, Jim. The last update from his wife said he had just been transferred to another hospital in anticipation of returning home.

He had been planning to attend NEAR-Fest in October. We were going to treat him to quite a visit since it's such a long way from Dallas back east.

Bob was an absolute great guy--had the pleasure of meeting him several years ago when I bought a T3 from him.  Had a number of QSO's and land-lines with him since then.   

He was a proud member of the Army Signal Corps during Vietnam and shared a number of stories about his time overseas, the sites he served at, and some of the equipment he encountered.  He sent me a number of Collins periodicals--one of which had a neat story on him operating out of Vietnam.     

He'll be missed for sure.

Another landmark person gone!  Sad. Todd and I were looking forward to seeing him at NEAR-Fest in October.  He was originally from Bangor, Maine.  We were planning on showing him a real good time so he could go back to Texas and tell the crew down there what a real New England hamfester was like.

I never worked Bob on the air, but did exchange a few ideas with him in several equipment related forums. He was always a gentleman with a pleasant sense of humor. Sorry to see that he's gone.

This morning the Texoma Traders Net (Sat. @ 0800 on 3890) was run so that each person could say a few words about Bob. The net was dedicated to him and we participated soberly.

The funeral service was 1 PM today in Richardson, TX. I was unable to attend, wish I could have.
