I finally made a commitment to use a pair of 811As to get my modulator build started.  I have one JAN with another RCA JAN on the way.  I have a pair of Johnson 123-209-31 sockets with locking bases. I want to build it with the idea of upgrading to 572Bs eventually.  Can I use the Johnson sockets?  Do the 572Bs have a locking pin or should I go with a heavy-duty ceramic socket instead?  I can always modify the chassis for different sockets, but I'd rather use a pair that will work for either tube.  Suggestions?

So the 572B DOES HAVE the locking pin Steve? Cool! I certainly want to use the Johnsons.  No problem with the filament iron either since the voltage and current draw is the same.
