The VFO cable for my Globe King 500c is missing. I recently acquired this transmitter and the cable is missing. I would be open to buying the 4 pin plugs and Making a cable but I don't know the proper name for this style connector. Any help would be appreciated.

Jonathan,

This Amphenol plug is on the VFO cable for my 500B, if that helps. It's the original. I don't know the specific type or # but someone here likely will know it.

I found a number of candidates by just using Google: "amphenol 4 pin plugs"
https://www.google.com/search?q=amphenol+4+pin+plugs&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiIvcyqm8f2AhUBWN8KHRcVDKcQ_AUoAnoECAIQBA&biw=1289&bih=789&dpr=1.25

However, with just a pin view photo, it hard to visualize the entire plug but it looks like a screw head protruding on one side. It so, it could be an Amphenol 91MPM4L. A very common plug along with the ...5L and ...6L used on many CB sets in the late 50's and early 60's. Also used a lot in sound systems.

Thank Pete I did a Google search and didn't see anything.  I guess I ran out of patience. That place Teds.com wants 16.50 each plus shipping I thought that was kinda steep.  But what you gonna do.

In my case if it was me, I might consider the typical 4 pin CB microphone connector. From what I remember, the panel hole size for this much cheaper set of connectors was close if not identical to the Amphenol.

I'll check to see how many 4 pin plugs I have left and get back to you.  I guess you need two male plugs, let me know

They made those plugs in three, four, five and six pin.  I have all of them including the females.

Let me know that you need two males 4 pin with the metal covers.  they made two size metal covers long one like Pete pictured and the shorter ones  I have more of the short covers.  Short covers are about 7/8" long.

Let me know if you're good in QRZ

Fred

I am good on QRZ the 7/8 long ones are great. The ground shell they slide into is 5/15 deep. So the 4 pin males will work perfect. I will need two male plugs to make the cable. Let me know what you need.

Thanks Johnathan N8QPC

Johnathan,

Additional photos of the interconnecting cable for the VFO and RF decks. I don't know if this is the original WRL cable.  I used the rope to immobilize the cables when I removed the RF deck.

Thank you Brad.  That answers my questions.  I will use. Coax and cover it with shrink tubing.
