Sister used to live in Moorestown, an old farm south of town that was originally Mr. Furness'. Now a development, "of curse".
B. in Law, flyboy Rowland, had Ed Roth, Inc. branch at Cherry Hill (name drop with location #62-A2.) I Bought a brand new '67 MGB-GT from him in '67. The maiden voyage was straight to the beach through the pine barrens and back. Ran the whole way with the emergency brake pretty much on. MGB never knew the difference but was the butt of shop jokes at Ed Roth for at least a week.

Bring back any BMC memories of MG, Austin Healey, Jaguar?
I worked one summer as a busboy at Satellite Restaurant on the AC boardwalk way before a casino was even though of. Most clientele from NYC and you wouldn't believe how cheap !.. a dime for a table full tip. Learned a lot from that job.
My buddy got a much better job as waiter at the Ambassador since he was third year back.
We Lived in the upper floor of "The Haunted House," a couple of blocks back from the beach. --two boys and three girls, they from WVU, me from Marietta College. All had "other" friends and we barely tolerated each other. Way diff. roommates from these days I suppose. Even so I've got nothing but great memories of The Jersey Shore.
Funny how things turn around. AC was in decline then and is again. The whole town has always been a thin veneer of nice waterfront backed by blocks and blocks of a town of more "gentile, weathered" nature... yeah, ahem.
How are things now after Sandy? Hopefully getting back to normal.
