S20r band switch

Not to be a pest on this subject, but ...I have successfully removed the bandswitch and the tuning capacitor. Hurrah...I can get to the pesky resistors and caps under the deck.  Any advice on either cleaning this switch or reinstalling? Some of the wiring underneath seems less than obvious even with the schematic. I can rewire this with longer leads to make it easier to work with but will that mess up the tuning? And I'm going to rewire this whole thing as long as I'm under there.
