Wow, three separate posts in less than an hour, I must have turned on a Valiant for the first time.  Tongue

Now when I was tuning, I saw the air cap associated with the exciter adjustment arc over.  The plates are offset, not centered and so, touching.  I have attached a picture.  I don't see any way to adjust this, or how this offset has happened.

Fixed by bending the plates.    :-)
