There is a string of now-disused poles on a friend's property. No wires nothing. He won't let us put up a SWL wire.. could be 500FT of it, 30 FT up.

Does the power co still have the right of way??  If so, see if they'll let you lease the poles.

I can't wait to see the semi-annual rotation of the array!  Smiley

Good one, but mostly Only if you wish to communicate off planet. Grin

Reminder: you may wish to consider diurnal, solar system transport, galactic rotational, galactic travel to nerest bubble concentration, etc., ...on infinitum in addition to seasonal (solar system orbital) mentioned.

Other directional changes...nutational, precessional, plate tectonical,...

Diurnal is your quickest bet since most of these anticipate a very long lasting array.  Diurnal also includes a markedly good ionospheric effect, righ up there with local star, solar sunspot cycle.
Might even be a small tidal effect if your beam is narrow enough.

Kraus would be proud of you.
