I was disappointed when it clouded up here.  Couldn't get a shot of the lunar eclipse.  I did get some good shots (Ithink) using a rather crude setup back in 2004.

Here's the link to my photography page:

http://www.w1vtp.com/photography.htm

Scroll down to the lunar thumbnail and click on it.  Hit the back button to get back to my main site.  That info had been lost, I thought, forever but happily discovered it on a backup I had forgotten about.

There is also a pic of the Venus transition that happened several years ago, I forget which year.

Are FETs supposed to glow like that?

I didn't bother to set up a scope...
Grabbed this with a Canon 60Da and a 300mm cheapo lens.

Nice shop Bruce.  I was listening to the Bo Sox playing and running out and getting the next pic.  Wish I could've had a chance to do this morning's shot with the Nikon D7000

Anyone else have a pic they could share?

Cloud cover here killed it. Looks like we will have a some more chances in the next few years.

Great shot Bruce!

Overcast here as well, and today is monsoon season on top of it. We have  good view out here too, and a fairly dark sky.

Very nice shot, Bruce. I'm guessing you used a tripod or otherwise braced it for a long exposure?

I was up but it was cloudy. Nice clear night tonight though, and the moon is full. That calendar site is cool, don't overlook the meteor shower dates!
I have a couple of meteorite fragments. One is from Odessa TX, and one from Northwest Africa (NWA849). They are only good to look at, but collecting odd things is fun!
