Notice how he pets the electrolytics like they are tame. Those caps are wild. When they bite....you die.

The capacitor guy is insane!! He's missing a few Volts, I think.

Here's a guy who likes to radiate the area with a kilowatt of 2.2ghz RF.

Tesla 'coilers' are like that also. I worked with one who graduated from neon sign transformers to actually dragging 'pole pigs' into the house. He had pictures of big t-coils running in his kitchen, discharging into any metal object, including wiring behind the walls. It's a hobby.

When we owned the LAB ( Certelecom) my younger brother used to build lightning machines to test equipment for its survival against lightning. He built a few of them over the years. It used to have to hit a certain value and hold it for a certain length of time with the whole deal recorded and photographed on an oscilloscope. I was there once when a switching terminal was tested. My Dad the engineer asked the company who submitted it for testing if it had lightning arrestors. They said no they didn't think it was needed. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP. They had to get me to help put out the fire!. I wont mention the company involved even though it was many years ago.  Recently my brother who still works for the same LAB but it is now owned by a much larger company said he was contacted about making another one just a few weeks ago.
