Hi Buddly,

Sorry to hear that the surgery was required, but very glad to hear that it apparently went very well!   Its just amazing with the current medical technology how quickly the recovery process is.

I have been on 40M AM during day time and conditions have been good.  Not much night time operation these days from GMS Radio.  A little bit of 160M in the evenings now and then and that's about it.  Hope to catch you on the air.

Speedy recovery!

Glad to hear all went well, Buddly!

Probability says sometime in our lives most of us have, or will have, back trouble.   I'm curious... was this the result of hard work, lifting boat anchors -  or just a natural deterioration of the spine?

I think most hams have a tendency to push their luck with lifting - I know I have...  Wink

Hope to hear ya on soon, OM.

Congrats Buddly. Hopefully a lot of relief from pain and side effects of pills.
Back operations were very tricky in the past, but seem to be having a lot more success. I have to stop lifting 50 lb bags of Quickrete to build antenna support posts.

Buddly,

That's great news..  August 1st was my surgery, it's been smooth sailing since. Sounds Like you are having the same good experience I was off all pain meds on the 3rd day so you are already ahead!

Glad to hear it went well Buddly, and welcome to the 'Fused & Abused' crowd. The first two vertebrae at the base of my skull are fused which accounts for the Robo-cop way I sometimes turn to look at things to the side. It's good when the pain is gone, though, and you can get back to life.  Wink

Buddly,

Glad to hear that things went well and that you are already up and moving around. Hope you heal up fast so you can be out there shoveling snow along with the rest of us!

Looking forward to working you on the bands this winter.

Bud,

Hope it just keeps getting better.. You've had some tough stuff last couple years or so and it's all uphill from here!

Looking forward to hearing that fine signal when the snow flies..

Wow, now that I'm home I can use a real keyboard.

Tom Vu - years of abuse in semipro footsball and heavy lifting did the trick.

Todd - Thanks for the warm welcome. I always figured you had some fusion done in the past.

The rest of ya - Thanks for all the well wishes. Again this is a great bunch of guys!!!

Once the anesthesia wore off I did, and still do, need help with pain management. Worse part is not being able to move the way I want to.

OK enuf about me.... back to the usual exciting AMFONE drivel!

Hey Slab!!

Ya, give me a couple days and I'll give you a call. I need to establish a home routine first.
