I've got  a MFJ-247 analyzer...It was a find at the hamfest...It worked for a couple years.....It just quit working....I wonder if it is worth it to send back to MFJ for repairs...I don't think I can troubleshoot it and repair it myself..It shows High SWR no matter what antenna or dummy load is attached to it.....
Tom...Thanks for the tip on finding the bad spots in the feedline....

Here's the manual with the schematic: http://www.mfjenterprises.com/support/MFJ-247/MFJ-247.pdf
Doesn't look that complicated.
It it worked for you in the past, it's probably worth repairing. MFJ probably still has some parts available.

I think they charge a flat rate of $80 to repair + parts. And they "calibrate" the instrument.
I have had to send my 259 and 269 in for repairs over the years.
I do not diddle inside test equipment.

I have all of 10 bucks in this 247...I think it is one of the first analyzers they produced...HF only..... I have rec'd a couple tips on troubleshooting the thing so I think I will diddle.....I certainly don't have much to lose....Looks like an oscillator and a bridge...If I can figure out where to poke it with the scope to check the oscillator.....If that works, then check the bridge diodes..That much I can do....I want to finish my antenna work before the snow flies...HA...Isn't there a computer program and dongle for antenna analysis??

You would think there would be dongles for everything........
And I agree that snow can fly at any time now in your neck of the woods.......MFJ kept my stuff over a month before returning. You would not be happy.

One or more of the bridge diodes are probably open.  They are good for about 3 volts and you know what static buildup can do.
