Potential Impacts: Area of impact primarily poleward of 55 degrees Geomagnetic Latitude.

Induced Currents - Power grid fluctuations can occur. High-latitude power systems may experience voltage alarms.

Spacecraft - Satellite orientation irregularities may occur; increased drag on low Earth-orbit satellites is possible.

Radio - HF (high frequency) radio propagation can fade at higher latitudes.

Aurora - Aurora may be seen as low as New York to Wisconsin to Washington state.

It is amazing how WE/Earth have been ducking a direct shot of a plasma event or a Gamma ray burst.

I sure used to enjoy the aurora back in my 3YPi days in N. pa.
Whole family propped up on a ditch embankment watched a spectacular one a couple of solar cycles ago.  Reds and greens, some straight over head.

The auroral oval that was linked by pete is not that strong....No reds in the picture and the oval certainly doesn't extend down into the lower 48....I just checked the latest oval...not much stronger... the bands seemed a little stronger today....But not a lot...weird condx..
I think the expected rays hitting the earths atmospher weren't as strong or as much as the predictors thot
......Maybe tommorow
