The VFO works fine in 160,80,40 band switch but on 40,20,15,10 the trimmer does not move the frequency hardly at all and the variable coil is full in and the frequency is about 800 KHZ high on 40 meters?
help?

Possibly the permeability of the core has lessened over time. I had a National receiver that had this issue, only way I could fix it was rewind the coils with more turns.

I had a problem with the 40-10M trimmer being bad.   I rewired the 11M trimmer to be the 40-10M trimmer and realigned it to fix the problem.

The trimmer caps in the VF-1 go bad. Sometimes a very sparingly squirt of contact cleaner can make them work.
