RF in the shack

I like antennas but I've never considered an antenna tattoo. Of course, I'm not as pretty as this young woman, either.  Sutro Tower turned 40 yesterday:

Our European friends are still fascinated by radio towers, antennas, and FM audio processors. And a lot like to show off their Ham shacks.
They seem to pride themselves with clean RF when transmitting and also look down on the CB amplifiers on the air.

Some of them do. But not all. Take a listen to some of the loud EU stations on 40 meters. I think you will find them less than clean.   Wink

And, during the last several Fall openings on 10 meters, a number of them were using converted CB amps that were splattering all over the place.

Last time I was in France, there was sold in FeuVert several high power CB radios. Maybe it was just that one store? Or maybe they just had heatsinks on the back for an unknown reason.

Today online, they have President brand with these functions:AM+FM, roger beep, VOX, scan, "Commutateur mode AM/FM "??, priority channel programmable, 5 year warranty too.

I think many Europeans like the CB radio, obviously the service there is allowed many more functions and come with them stock. Leave it to ignorant users (globally) to select poor amps or operate them badly.
