We started to notice what we originally thought was a problem with our new sewage connection a couple days ago.  This was noticed mostly in the adjoining room where we have our washer / drier machines.

Well, I braved an exploratory mission into the bowels of the crawl space and to my dismay ‘lil Pogo was draped over a beam at the far end of the house – under where the aforementioned washer room is.  I thought this fitting to take a picture of our pet possum.  We called our local pest outfit and he removed the carcass.  He said it was the most difficult job yet what with the stench and flies.

Yes, I do have some places in the (alleged) foundation where access points have to be plugged up.  In my defense, this is the first time this has happened since I moved in back in ’84.

Hand over the heart – sigh!

Al

Alas, Pogo.

Opossums are one of the oldest and most successful mammals.  However, they live very short lives of just a few years.

I'll have a similar situation under my shed from a huge groundhog. He has to go! They like gardens.

The municipal water tank in Waycross, Ga. has a depiction of Pogo painted on it welcoming folks to the town. Waycross is not too far away from the northern edge of the Okefenookee Swamp. Pogo is rumored to reside in dat dare ole gator-infested swamp.

You see the guy on TV that injects propane(heavier than air) into gopher holes, waits a small interval for a decent gas air mix, then hits the switch?

Says it gets all their escape hatches....

Wait, there's more.  Two of those were under his house.

There's something called a Varmit Getter that does just that, but it mixes the propane and oxygen in just the right amounts so you can blast just as soon as you quit injecting the mix.  Best part of it is no guessing how long to wait, though it is a bit spendy.  My gopher population is only half of what it once was.
