Has anyone here had experience using one of the high gain TV antennas that contain a signal amplifier in close proximity to a ham transmitting antenna......What I am asking, is there a chance of the ham signal overloading and blowing the high gain amp in the TV HDTV antenna......By close proximity, I'm talking 15' or so to the end of a 160 meter dipole running legal limit.

I have no idea about 160m. But my tv antenna is between my two dipoles on 75m and it has not affected mine.

I personally would not run the end of a dipole that close to a TV antenna especially if that TV antenna had a powered RF preamp also sitting close to that large of an RF field.

I have a high gain antenna on the roof of the house. It points at the 160 meter dipole that is 50 feet away. I also have a pre-amp at the antenna. I have never had a problem. The 80 meter inverted V is closer yet and about 60 degrees off the heading of the TV antenna. Never had a problem there either.
During the analog TV days I would get into the TV using 160 meters. I have not noticed a problem, or rather my wife hasn't noticed a problem, since TV went digital.
