I picked this RF deck up earlier this year, I believe at Richmond. Had though of stripping it for parts, but it's not that bad; someone did a pretty decent job of it. What tube do you suppose it ran? Looks like a medium 4 pin bayonet socket and the tube had a grid pin on the side. My guess is it was either a 75 or 100 TH/TL, but I'm not that familiar with a lot of the older triodes. Panel meters full scale are Vp=1.5 KV, Ip=300mA.

Yes, it's a B&W turret, just barely visible in the upper RH corner...

very nice, thanks. Looks like it has a balanced grid-tank (dual cap, and
center-linked coils). Plug and play !

If the grid connection is with a connector, you may be right about the Eimac tube.

If it is on the socket, it was most likely a T-40, T-55, VF70D, or 830B.

Could also be an 812 or 811, but those would be light in the mA department.

Thanks for the replies. Here's one last pic in which you can see the grid clip. Now, the rub is I don't have anything for a direct fit. Have a few 304TL's, but that would mean a little reconfiguring. Thought about 812's but same scenario there as well. My pocket just isn't deep enough right now for the correct one to do plug and play. Thanks Audiophools! I hope those RF tubes gives you great clarity in your highs and tightness in your bottom end!

Just kidding!

Phil

Without mods that limits your choices to a 100TH or TL, or the Amperex/United HF100.
