I  know this receiver has (gasp!) transistors, but for beginning listeners, kids, camp or patio use, an R-390 or HQ-180 isn't always the best choice! About the size of a Yaesu FT-101, similar styling. 10-150 KC with untuned broadband input, 150 KC-30 MC continuous with pre-selector. Seperate USB and LSB modes, digital frequency readout.   Works well despite a small melted spot on the top of the front panel bezel and a replacement metal loudspeaker grille. Also, the cover for the battery compartment is missing, but you can use tape to hold the 8 "D" cells in place. The AC power cord is not detachable and is in good condition. There is also a connector for 12 volts DC.  A printed out copy of the manual is included. All the dial lamps have been replaced with LEDs .  $85.00 plus shipping. It will weigh about 20 pounds packed up, so use that and zipcode 13057 for calculation. I can bring it to the Cortland or Rochester hamfests.   Thanks for looking,  Bruce    KA2IVY
