A couple shots of the oddest cap I've owned.

Used in power distribution reactance adjustment.

The close-up shows one of the two pipe nipples for H2O cooling.

Neat stippled aluminum case, too.

Most of the ones I have seen like that were used in induction heating systems.

I've seen caps like that, a little bigger and only two terminals, with a loop of tubing on then but they were not for use outdoors. Got one from the Tesla folks.

Wow is that a Mercury Vapor rectifier? Be careful Dennis!! I heard those things will make one sick!

I had a nearly identical one except maybe twice the size with extra mounting brackets on the ends, new, never used. It had something to do with a plasma generator for chip production David told me when he happily gave it to me.  I was happy too when I gave it to someone else after having it sitting around for a few years.  Who knows, maybe someone someday will find a use for it.

I should use it to filter an MV rectified PSU!  Wired together with asbestos-insulated cables...

Darn shame it doesn't have any PCB's in it, as those were the best HV caps ever made!
