Yep, it is all glass.  I've not seen but one other of these, was used in a BC FM exciter.

Cut for 88.3 MHz.  More or less a HC6/U size.

Free to the first ham that can tell me how it will live again.  Divide & conquer?

Thats realy cool . I have seen a lot of crystals but never one like that. It needs to be in a glass case on display in some radio museum somewhere. Thanks for sharing that with us.                                                    73s Mike

In a Collins 310Z-2 FM exciter? Honestly I don't know if it would work in that or not, but the exciter is here. That crystal ought to go to a collector, very pretty!

That is special!  Cheesy

I have several from BC rigs that are glass-envelope octal based jobs, same size as a 6146.

I suppose the vacuum surrounding them eliminates any oxidation or corrosion of the metallic plating, and adds a bit of temp stability like a thermos bottle. Lips sealed

That is a real beauty. Would look fine in a breadboard educational crystal ascillator circuit.

I could use it in my pirate FM transmitter ! Grin  The PLL died and the TX went QRT after 20 years continuous 24-7 service.

Seen quite a few of the miniature tube version . The HC-6U glass is fairly uncommon IFAK.

But I don't really need the crystal  Wink
