A somewhat serious, somewhat humorous, somewhat sarcastic look at the ARRL's QST "Hamspeak" column.

Some very funny parts, but, there was (or were?) a lot of beeping noises 'messin up the audio.

You have good choice of pictures of the lady folk in your presentation.

Some more:

Gain: A commercial detergent, made by the same folks who make Tide and Cheer.
QST: Once a decent magazine, now sold for lining bird cages and training puppies.
CQ: (See QST.)
Linear (or leen-yar): A device used for amplifying and greatly widening signals, especially on the DX bands.
Field Day: An outdoor ham radio activity in which hams compete to see how much beer they can filter through their kidneys.
73: A now-extinct magazine that was once pretty good. It died when its publisher began writing long, rambling editorials about contacting the Ammonia People of Pluto on 902 MHz (or Mc).
Hertz: A car rental company.
Phone: Something in your neighbor's house that will reproduce your voice if you run more than 10 watts on 10 meters.

This reminds me a little of my infamous "Dorkspeak" posting, for which I was excoriated on this board...before one of the censors deleted it entirely.
