I'll bring the Barbie if someone helps me haul it up.

Anyone got a Gin Pole?

How tall is that thing? Looks like an old AT&T microwave tower. There is one that American Tower bought from AT&T just southwest of the Alabama Welcome Center on I-65 near Ardmore, AL. It is 199 feet(I think).

Build your shack on the platform, and haul the transmitter up piece at at time.  No need for a feed line! Now you just need a couple of guyed towers the same height, each about 200' away from the big one.

Ya like it?? Cheesy

It's actually just south of the NYS thruway off Exit 14B... that's the leg that goes from the Tappan Zee Bridge west before it makes a right turn and heads north... I make it to be about 300+ feet. It is big.  And yes, likely an old AT&T relay tower... love that deck on the top!

Of course the climb up would mean that you kinda have to stay for a while...  Roll Eyes

The picture shows about the top 1/2 of it... snapped it while riding in the car, without stopping...

If I am ambitious I'll find the "birdseye" view on maps.bing and post the link.

It is a thing of beauty!

Oh, Don, 200' towers off to the side would getcha an inverted V!!

I have seen those ATT towers for sale in the past complete with the cinder block buildings. I think the killer would be the insurance on the tower.

Of course he bought it and I bought this tower.   Wink  The antennas are all installed and I'll be operating field day from the revolving restaurant assuming that I can sort out how to feed a stationary antenna from a moving transmitter.
