That is no surprise considering the itinerant and generally untrained labor those companies hire. Many Ive met are serious drug abusers and boozers. I was at the next hill over when the TV and FM towers were installed and later when the lower 2 sections of the 500' TV tower had to be replaced due to overloading. They were with an OK company and the turn over rate was often just long enough to get enough folding money to hold them over for a few months of stupor.

dopers work cheaper than pros and don't require as much safety equipment.
I remember the clown I worked for at mot. He thought I was going to climb for him. I laughed and said sure for rigger's pay.
