Hello AM Lovers,
This morning many AM stations on air!
Below the results, I listen between 06.15 - 06.45 hour this morning.

Between 3705 - 3710 I heard:
F6AQK, Jean, max. S7
No problem to copy, nice audio.

PA3HCO, Jan, max S9+
Blowing all ssb away, good audio

PA3FAU, Jan, max. S3
First not nice audio, bad to understand.
But later with his Geloso transmitter, the audio were much better to hear!
And many splattering from 3703 or/and 3714 ssb stations.

PE1BIW, Martin, max. S5
Audio may/can a little louder.
With splatters from ssb.

M3CTW, Fred, max. S2
Sorry, but I must listen in ssb mode to copy.
Many splattering from 3714 ssb stations.

9H1ES, Fortunato, max. S1
I listen in ssb mode and I could hear only some words, no more.
Evenso he has a 'dark' audio.
And again splattering from 3703 or/and 3714 khz.

The most using this morning 3707 khz.
To be AWAY from the ssb stations no 3703 and 3714 khz.
I would we could find a better AM freq.....
But thats very difficult....

For me is the best freq. to receive am = between 3707 - 3710 khz.
The Danish ssb stations on 3714 are mostly after 06.30 off air.
But the Germans on 3703 using 3703 nearly the hole day!

Oh by the way, around 3885 NO AM from the USA.
On 3550 khz AM from France with fair signals!
Around 7220 khz I heard nothing, freq. totaly clean this morning...

Hello AM Lovers,
This morning I awake aerly.
I walk to our livingroom and say 'Hello' to our cat.
She wants to go out....
After the cat goes through the door,  I listen to 40 & 80 mtrs.
Fun, no contests were on both bands....
A pity around 3885 NO AM from the USA.
Evenso on 40 very poor (ssb) signals from the USA.

I make for mysels a cup of coffee and walk to my studio.
When I turn on my radio, I heard Jean calling!
You may know that I got fun... to receive his signal so good. Wink
And, important, without SSB!!!
Quickly I say 'Goodmorning Jean'..... on 3710 khz.

Here the stations on 3710 khz. this morning
F6AQK, Jean, max. S9 +30, good audio
9H1ES, Fortunato, max. S7, dark audio and sometimes no audio!
PE1BIW, Martin, max. S9 +20, very clear (high) audio.
PA3HCO, Jan, max. S9 +20, good audio
PA1SBV, Tjerk, max. S9 +15, good audio
And me: PE1MPH Grin

There must have been good conditions for us this morning.
Because I heard Fortunato with a strong signal!
A pity about his audio...

During our qso I listen evenso by Internet, webreceiver in Rimini, Italia!
That can be handy... hi, hi...

Later when Jean wants to go to his tea....
I heard on this webreceiver Fortunoto under Jan and Martin testing... hi, hi..
He connect another microphone...
So when I were on air, I called him again on air...
Pity conditions were dropping down and more ssb around 3710 khz.
But I could here Fortunato with max. S3 and now good audio!!

After that we had a little locale (in Holland) qso.
I have asked Jean to make once a recording from us...
In the future, when he has time, Jean wants to make a recording from (and for!) us.
We are waiting Jean... hi, hi...

Evenso my compliments to Martin's audio...
I have spoken 'live' with both on some radiomarkets...
But when I listen to both, then souding Martin's audio much 'younger' then Jan's!

Oh AM Lovers... this were a nice & great AM morning!
It gives me a good feeling to hear AM with such good signals...

So this morning totaly nothing from the USA heard in AM!
But on 3550 khz again good and strong AM from France.
While I type this, I listen to 3615 khz, the AM net from UK.
Alan G4GEN is the only station with good signal: S9+.
Others are weakly and ssb blowing them away...

Oh, tomorrow (Sunday morning) Jean shall calling around 7185 in AM.
It all happening just after 06.00 hour our time.....

Thanks all for the nice morning,

Henk

Yes Henk, it was me. I was working Jean on 3.707 and could hear a few words from Martin too. This is surprising since he is only running 50 watts! I did not know you were on 3710 until after I signed out of the QSO, then tuned up and heard you stronger. Only a few words because the static and noise level is still high here from lightning storms. Jean said he was having storms too. A few times I could hear Jean S9+20, but mostly S7 to S9+10. This was the strongest I have heard Jean.

I am sure we will have better luck in a few weeks once there is less noise.

Keep your ears (listen) between 3707 - 3710.
Mostly we are there, if we are on air.
But I heard you later better, then on the recording....

Hello AM Lovers,
This morning I awake early and listen to 80 mtrs.
On 3705 khz, I am sure I heard AM from the USA.
See: http://www.weerstationuithuizermeeden.nl/Wereldklok.htm
Time by me +/- 05.45, in New York +/- 00.45 hours

But sorry I could not heard these stations clearly.
A lot of splattering from ssb on 3703.

Later I were on 3709 talking with Jean & Martin.
Both evenso on 3709 khz with good/big signals.
Firstly we got splattering from ssb Italians on 3710 khz.
But when the leaved the freq. we got a nice AM qso!

When I were after our qso in our lvingroom, I listen to 3880.
I heard an AM station talking, but he leaves the freq.!
A pity I could not heard his name or call.
He had a good signal by me: S2 - S5!

Hello AM Lovers,

Like every morning, I listen this morning.
You know when.... Grin

On 3705 khz (and 3875) I heard AM from the USA.
That stations on 3705 were weak to fair by me.
Jean, F6AQK, tried to make a qso.
But he has the same problem like me...
Many splattering from ssb on 3703!! Cry

I listen in narrow AM and ssb mode, but very difficult to understand.
Maybe I heard the name Joe, but not sure for me...
Mornings very busy around 3705...
Therefore we 'moved' a little higher to +.- 3707 or 3710 khz.
But while I write this, I can not say: 'the freq. is always clean/free'.
Sorry...

On 3875 weak to fair AM, to weak to copy calls or names.

Greetings,

The stations on 3.705 were myself and Joe, WA2PJP. We actually contacted Jean, but he said QRM was too strong from the SSB ops down frequency. We could actually here them over hear a bit, they sounded German. Also some Italian noise earlier that came up on 05 as I was talking with W3WMD.

Conditions will continue to improve, though we can't do anything about the SSBers on your side of the pond. We can work around it, though. There are plenty of open frequencies over here at that time of the night/morning.

There are many open frequencies below 3700 over here, especially below about 3675. Do you find any holes in the QRM wall on 3600-3675 over there?

Thanks for your info, i could hear AM.... but not all!
Ofcourse I can/will/shall monitoring below 3700 khz.
But, sorry, early mornings many freq. already in use by ssb!

I promise you 'to monitor' next days 'below' 3700...
(you may/can qsy to 3600 khz in AM?)
And if you can go a little up (+/- 3707), maybe it is better... Smiley

That's the problem.  Finding a hole in your QRM wall that matches a hole in our QRM wall. Kind of like wearing one moth-eaten swimsuit over another moth-eaten swimsuit.  They both may be full of holes, but chances are, very few (if any) of those holes will line up to allow skin to show through.

Hallo AM Lovers!

This morning I heard Jean (F6AQK) calling on 3707 khz.
Big signal, so I 'run' to my studio to say 'hello'!
I used my 3710 crystal and asked Jean if he could heard me.
When I go off air, I saw a bigger signal then Jean...
Jan (PA3HCO) were evenso qrv.
Later we all were using 3710 khz.
And we had a great qso, without ssb splatters!!!
So we all were wondering about such nice qso....
Aflter our qso I went to the livingroom and listend shortly.
Evenso I heard Fortunato (9H1ES) with a clear signal.

- F6AQK, Jean, S9 - S9+20
- PA3HCO, Jan, S9 - S9+40
- 9H1ES, Fortunato, S3 - S5

So totaly no problem to copy all station this morning in AM. Smiley
Then it can be super and nice to listen to AM audio...

On 3885 I could hear AM but very weak signals.

I heard Jean  on 3707 quite loud at about 0400Z. Unfortunately, there were two USA stations on 3705 at the time. I guess they couldn't hear him.

I haven't been able to hear much this season. The beverage is picking up a consistently strong line noise, which is inaudible on the dipole, but the European stations are barely audible on the dipole. They would be readable on the beverage but  the noise blanks them out.  On 40m the noise is equally bad on the dipole or beverage, so I haven't seriously tried to operate on that band lately.  I can barely hear the noise on 160; it is right in there with the atmospheric background hiss.  Unusual, since line noise is usually stronger on the lower frequencies and diminishes as you tune upwards.  It is very strong on 20 through 10m and wipes out anything but the strongest signals.  I haven't had time (trying to finish outdoor work before winter wx sets in) to go on a line noise chase and then try to get the power co. to fix it.

Thats fine Steve!
But we all didn't receive AM from the USA on 3705.
Jean is calling almost every morning a little after 04.00 Z.
On +/- 3707 khz.

And this morning I heard AM on 3875 and 3885.
But.... the time were +/- 06.00 Z and 'weak - fair' signals.
So there have been good conditions this morning? Smiley

Hello AM Lovers!
This morning I were listening to 3707 khz!
To get calls or names from the USA stations on that freq.
Nice they moved away from 3705.... many splattering from 3703.
Jean tried several times!! to 'break-in' by them.
And Fortunato were evenso calling, while I listend.
Sorry, sorry... I could not copy calls or names, signals were weak on 3707....
I am sure Jean and Fortunato did the same like me....

Hope to get calls and make contact....

Greetings

Ah. Sorry we missed him. I did not sound like he was calling us. I called for him several times with no reply. Jean has a good signal here and I could hear some of Fortunato's audio  too.

Hallo AM Lovers,

This morning (by me!) I heard on +/- 3710 khz

- Todd, KA1KAQ, around S3 by me, I could hear not all....
- W3?, I could hear only a weak carrier, no audio.
- Jean, F6AQK, S9+

First the USA stations were on 3705.
But many splattering from 3703, so I could not copy good...
Later they qsy to +/- 3710, much better...
But conditions were not 'super' this morning!

Around 3880 very weak AM from the USA.

The W3 was Ralph, W3GL in Delaware. Jean was able to make him out after we moved up to 3.710.

When we were on 3.705 Jean was able to hear and work Joe, WA2PJP with some difficulty due to QRM across the pond. So after we got through the rotation, we moved up to 3.710 where contact was much easier.

Jean was averaging S7-S9, with peaking at S9+20 on the high point of QSB. The strongest I've ever heard him. Aside from the static crashes from nearby storms, he was mostly armchair copy. Very easy to hear. Jean has always been the strongest signal.

Over here we are looking forward to the improving conditions in hopes of working you Henk, Martin, and the other AMers in Europe who can hear us. Perhaps you will visit Martin after he completes his new transmitter!

You guys were coming in well here last night.  I listened for a while and the transmitter was warmed up, but the QSO was already large enough, and anyway I was working on a project.

Sorry I heard no names or calls.
Time around 02.00 hours by me...

Pretty to listen, last night NO ssb on 3710 khz! Grin

I am good on 3710. I can load about 9 watts output there . I will listen till I hear someone . I will not be strong so you folks may have to listen hard to hear me. I will try on the breaks. If you leave me a space (a long break so I wont be over run.(getreppen) I will be right there.

I missed the group on 3705. But I tuned around much later, maybe 0700Z. I could hear a French AM group on 3550 quite well. If I spoke French I would have easily been able to follow the conversation.
