Posting this for a friend, K4OZY:
I've decided to find a new home for my very nice R-220/URR. As you
know, it's a dreadnought-class boatanchor receiver, same size/shape
as an R-390, and somewhat similar appearnce, though much heavier. It
covers 28.5Mc - 230 in 6 bands, and has both AM and FM detectors.
Not sure what these were typically used for, but they appear to have been
employed in electronic countermeasures of some sort. This one, and
every other one I've seen, was manufactured by Motorola.
This particular example is very nice indeed, maybe a 9/10 in appearance,
and it works (at least on the commercial FM broadcast band) well. It
comes with a manual.
Asking $250. The radio can't be shipped easily, but I'll deliver to
Dayton or any local hamfest in NC or nearby. Also making a trip to
the NYC area end of April, so could drop it off on the way.He can be reached at:
JPOULTON@UNC.EDUJust the thing for listening to 10m, 6m, or 2m AM!
