I have been offered ten 4E27A broadcast pulls for free. Any suggestions for projects using them? They are pentodes with 125 watt plate dissipation rating.

Also known as 5-125A's.   Grab them and don't look back...

If they're free, grab em, what the hey.

They are pretty much the same as 5-125 pentodes like Ralphie said. However they dont seem to have as much scrote as the good old 4-125s do.

I wonder if you could tell me or anyone for that matter what BC transmitters they were used in? I've seen them in military service and in some paging gear but never in a BC transmitter. In Korea, we had them in use on a LF beacon for our aircraft.

So since I like this tube for some reason let me know the BC gear it was used in. I just want more history on the tubes services Grin Grin

There was a transmitter that was kind of like the Globe King that used one in the final and the name of that mfg. escapes me.

Terry,
IIRC, Eldico made one, I dont remember what the model was, but Vortex Joe has one. I gave him a handful of them that I had for spares.

Thanks Dave.  I think the PTP Z is a bit high for my application but we'll see.

Hi Al, Apply some feedback. That could get the Z closer to the ballpark.
