Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
C and other curious audio folk
The Spark has got my attention!!!!!
Such a smooth sound. I have never experienced a ribbon mic sound but this thing is like BLUE SMOOOTH VELVET!!! I would have to listen closely with the focus button. One position out? is a flatter sound and IN? is a FAT bassy sound. Not muddy bass but fatter. High end is so clean and whatever background noise was coming out of the Marshall is not present in the Spark. The console is not the latest or greatest but class A audio through all the channels and noise in the 90's and freq response +- 1db 15hz -20K. For late 80's technology and a broadcast board I am impressed. It was a $25,000 console in its day...WBZ TV ...avatar....bought from Gary 2INR
I'll have to find a quick way to transfer from the Flintstone studio to the Ham AM side coz it will make some nice sounds.......more to come later.........Thanks for the heads-up

Coool!   I have some audio clips now.  I need to spend some time uploading them to youtube.  I love this mic.

What I have realized is that with this mic you get alot of low end and it is never muddy.  Just wider and more full sounding if that makes sense.

The focus button for me takes the low end out and causes a midrange bump around voice.  I read that this button lowers the voltage to the Fet which alters its sound.

Glad you like it Fred.  I have heard from a couple other hams who have run out and ordered this mic. Its a limited edition or so they say so better get one now. I am thinking of buying another one and selling off all the other mics I own. I like it that much.

I still love my MXL-990 for only 60 bucks brand new, the best bargain in new microphones imho.  BUT, that Blue Spark sure does look sexy!

Yeah.  The MXLs are nice.  I have the 990 and the V57.  They sound good.  But after 2 words out of this, The contest was over.

I kept the MXL for the T368s side of the audio rack.  The rest are being sold off.  One lucky ham just got an ST55, boom, and behringer mixer for Xmas!
