I guess from what I have been hearing and reading 10 meters is starting to open up again. I guess I need to fire up the Viking II on the yagi this Thanksgiving and see what happens.

Anyone been having any luck with 10-meter AM? I'm asking because I have not even turned on a receiver in the past 3 months.

Was wondering about 10M AM activity myself. I regularly hear and work 10 when it's open on FM in the mobeeeel, but probably should give it a try at home. Another antenna project!

I did some 10m stuff back in the summer both SSB and AM.  It's hit or miss.  Just got to look occasionally and you might get lucky.

P.S. What happened is I filed for divorce back in August and everything was put on hold. Luckily my ex signed over the house to me. My new Vietnamese girlfriend is having Thanksgiving dinner with family members tomorrow and she didn’t want them all to ask us when we are getting married (which they would Grin) so I am staying home tomorrow.

Time to update the "Preface" picture on your website?  Cool

I had a 10 meter vert on the tower. I scanned the 10 meter band with an FT 450 for 6 months. It never stopped on any AM.  However, There is now a 10 meter AM net in AZ on 28.800 on tuesday nights.  I cant participate. Its low power AM using CB antennas and since I lost my tower, I just have the Zep for 10 meters. It obviously does not work that well in town.  If you want, I am will to load the GK500 up on 10 into the wire to try to contact you.

Yeah. I have no idea why those guys chose 28800.  They have a weekly SSB net there and its mainly Guys with converted CB radios and antennas. I suggested it, They all talked about it and finally decided to set up the AM net, Then the storm took my tower down so I cant even join in.  A 135 ft wire is pretty piss poor for local in town 10 meter work.
